TES quality: listening to emotions

Parallel lecture (P9)

PROBLEMS CAN NEVER BE SOLVED WITH THE SAME WAY OF THINKING AS THEY WERE CREATED (Albert Einstein).

Stefan SCHUMACHER

What has changed? Today's theme under the title "Winds of hope" is essentially a question about meaning. Meaning in life has to be created again and again. This applies both to the people we accompany in crisis situations, but also to ourselves. But how do we find meaning? When do we perceive something as meaningful? And when is something meaningless?
When we are dealing with problems or are in a crisis, the world or the situation we are dealing with no longer fits our subjective inner reality. That is why we solve problems only after we have changed our way of thinking about them.
In this lecture I would like to use the constructivist model of "logical levels" to show how we construct our experience of reality and which aspects play a role in creating a problem or an experience of meaning.

Unfortunately Frank Ertel is not able to attend the congress and give his lecture "ONLY THE CALLER COUNTS! MASTERING EMOTIONALLY DIFFICULT PHONE CONVERSATIONS". We hope there will be another opportunity to listen to his contribution and we thank Stefan Schumacher for proposing an alternative lecture for this session.
