Andrea MIOLA and Giulia PIZZOLONGO

The Miola Pizzolongo duo was formed in 2018, following a period of didactic collaboration and a common passion for the repertoire of plucked string instruments. They played about thirty shows for important associations in the province of Udine, such as the ProLoco Nediške Doline Valli del Natisone, Voci Fuoricampo of Udine, "Incrôs" of Bagnaria Arsa, "pro Musica" of Ruda, , Ecomuseum of the waters of Gemona , and international ones such as IFOTES in Geneva. The type of formation "guitar and mandolin duo" began to spread widely in Italy in the early 1900s, a period in which the music was published both by publishing houses and by the many magazines in the sector. The phenomenon continues to this day.

Andrea Miola: He graduated in mandolin at the Padua Conservatory of Music with M° Ugo Orlandi. He is the artistic director of the "Tita Marzuttini" plectrum orchestra in Udine with which he has often performed also as a soloist. He has directed stage reading shows including "Palomar" by Italo Calvino, "Specie di Spazi" by Gerorges Perec and, in 2022, "Fiore di roccia" by Ilaria Tuti. Since 2007 he has taught mandolin technique and ensemble music in the musical laboratories of the Marzuttini orchestra and since 2021 he has been teaching at the CEDIM school in Gonars (UD). It contributes to the diffusion of the history and culture of the mandolin in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
