Resilience: from the understanding model to practical applications

Prof. Marie ANAUT

The resilience paradigm is a conceptual model that allows us to understand how individuals, families, or groups manage to overcome traumatic situations. But, beyond a model of understanding, resilience also finds its place as a reference in supporting subjects in distress with the aim of helping them find their path to reconstruction on a psychological and social level. After a review of the theoretical foundations of resilience, we will discuss its applications in practical fields, proposing courses of action with reference to this model. Nowadays, the resilience approach concerns many areas: psycho-trauma, specialized education, social work, health, disability sectors, etc.
